Currently the MBA (Regular) is a two year programme consisting of four semesters and summer internship of two months duration. Each year shall be divided into two Semesters – Autumn Semester (July to December) and Spring Semester (January to June).  The autumn semester shall ordinarily begin in July for students already on rolls and the spring semester shall ordinarily begin in January. The number of teaching weeks in each semester shall be 15 to 18 with a minimum of 90 teaching days excluding the period of examination.

The student has to earn 108 credits, which also include 4 credits for eight weeks long management traineeship component (summer internship).

  Specialization

Domain Specialization Specialization refers to the applied areas of Management. Under domain specialization, a student in the fourth semester needs to choose a domain from the following: Financial Services, Rural Development, Business Analytics and Enterprise Resource Planning. Every domain has a bouquet of papers which a student is required to study. The curricula for these papers have been developed keeping in view the needs of the corporate and social sectors in each domain. For this purpose, we are signing MOU with domain partners drawn from respective industry categories. The student will be attached to the respective industries for completion of the papers and to gain hands on experience. This exposure will enhance the employability quotient of the student and help in building a robust career .

Functional Specialization deals with traditional functional spheres of management namely Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, Entrepreneurship, Insurance and Rural Management. A student has to opt for minimum of five courses in one functional area in the third semester to be considered as specialized in the area.

  Instruction Methodology And Academic Evaluation

The main objective of the faculty is to assist the student to develop qualities and internalise values which are required for effective leadership of organisations. As this involves more than a mere learning of specific theories and tools, different teaching methods are used (appropriate to the skills to be developed), such as case studies, simulated games, group discussions, small group seminars, "Laboratory" exercises, field works, individual & group projects,. The student's attendance and participation in class are essential. While classroom interaction aims at developing a wide knowledge base, the student is encouraged to analyse, anticipate, innovative and prepare himself or herself for a challenging professional career.

The major objective of the Institute's evaluation system is to motivate all students towards excellence. The system seeks this objective primarily by keeping students continually informed of their performance in relation to the required standards of academic achievement. The responsibility of performance, however, is entirely of the student. Apart from the end term examination, a student's performance is continually assessed on the basis of class participation, presentation, projects, mid-term tests and quizzes. Internal paper setting & evaluation will be up to maximum 60% and External paper setting & evaluation will be 40%. The evaluation system attempts to synthesize a continuous process of assessment. The Institute uses the following grading system for indicating the levels of achievement:
